What this stuff is all about:

I love both the fun and the history of horses. This artwork is about both of those things.

My art pieces are representations of my feelings and thoughts about horses. These pieces include the forms of horses without trying to imitate horses.

I love to watch horses goof around and play with each other. I love to watch horses do just about anything. These pieces are about domesticated horses, horses that have been handled by people. The figures are happy.

The polymer is "plastic", flexible and moldable, not unlike a horse. The molding is all done by hand. The fingerprints and handprints that remain on the figures represent a hand of the person on shaping the horse. These horses are all "molded" by a person, not totally natural, but fun and pleasurable.

The other component of my work is the barn wood. Horses have a long history of being around people. The aged barn wood represents both the horse-human relationship and time. The aging process and what the wood looks like is the direct function of each individual piece of wood and what it has been through. Being wood that was used in construction, it represents the natural along with the mark of the human hand, just like the horses.

There is a tease in the form of the pieces. They are flattish, not unlike ancient friezes, one of the first places that human horse relationships were documented.

These pieces are meant to be fun, to invoke a smile and good feelings. Horses do that for me. I hope my artwork does that for the viewer.
