Come, Meet Jesus

Welcome to the next part of our journey together.  Let me show you the wondrous Savior I have found.  Allow me introduce him to you.  He is creator God and through him all things were created that were made. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).    In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth (John 1:1-3,14).  His name is Jesus, the Christ out of Nazareth, the Messiah, Jehovah, God.  In Hebrews 1:8 we see what the Father has to say of the Son, Jesus.  He says, “but of the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom”.  Jesus is God.

And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7).  And Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof:  and the rib, which Jehovah God had taken from the man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man (Genesis 2:21).  Jesus, God of creation, walked in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve.  He had breathed the breath of life into them and fellowshipped with them.   When he created them, he had told them that they could eat freely of every tree in the garden, except the tree in the center, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16-17).    Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which Jehovah God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of any tree of the garden (Genesis 3:1).  Notice, satan, the serpent, was crafty.  He tempted Eve with a lie.  God had not said they could not eat of any tree, but only of one tree.  Eve ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and Adam, likewise, ate (Genesis 3:6).  Immediately, Adam and Eve realized they were naked and attempted to cover themselves with the leaves of a tree (Genesis 3:7-10).  Jesus came to walk with them and they hid from him (Genesis 3:8).  They were separated from Jehovah God and all mankind, for all time, was likewise separated from his presence (Genesis 3:24, Ephesians 2:12, Exodus 26:33, Isaiah 59:2).

But God had a plan.  First, he sent the law to Moses to convict mankind of their sin (Deuteronomy 5, John 1:17, Romans 2, Romans 3: 20)

In the fullness of time, Jehovah God, Jesus, was born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and lived a perfect life (Matthew 1:23, Luke 1, Hebrews 5).  Creator God became the created.  He did not want mankind to be separated from himself.  He gave up his heavenly kingdom, for a time, to live in the flesh, fully God, yet fully human (Colossians 2:9).  This same God who had created mankind became as one whom he had created.  He was tempted and did not give in to temptation (Matthew 4, Mark 1, Luke 4, Hebrews 2:18).  He knew pain and hardship.  He owned nothing on this earth other than the clothes on his back and the shoes on his feet.  He did not have a house to live in of his own (Matthew 8:20).  He had no place to lay his head.  Creator God gave up the glories of heaven that he could make a way for you to be restored to his presence.

When the time was come, Jesus Christ was beaten and crucified on the cross.  He was dead.  He had not merely fainted or passed out.  He died (Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, John 19).  Before He was taken down from the cross, He had been dead long enough for the red blood cells and the plasma to separate (John 19:34).  He was buried in a borrowed tomb, for he did not have a tomb of his own (John 19:38, Matthew 27:59-60, Mark 15:43-46, Luke 23:50-53).  However, praise his name, the grave could not hold him.  Jesus rose from the dead.  He is alive!  Christians do not serve a dead God; we serve a living God (Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20).  He, along with the saints of the Old Testament, was seen by many people (Matthew 27).  Jesus holds the keys to death and hell (Revelation 1:18).  Jesus is triumphant for all time over all the powers of hell.  Jesus is alive.  This same Jesus shall return in the clouds (Acts 1:11, Acts 15:16).  He calls to each of you to accept his gift of Salvation.

I don’t know about you, but I know that I am not a perfect creature.  I have sinned.  Have you ever done a single thing wrong in your entire life?  Have you ever cheated on an exam, told a lie, or done any other thing that you knew was not right?  Romans 3: 23 states that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  Without Jesus, we are separated from God forever.  There is a choice that each person must make in his or her life.  That choice is the choice of whom you serve.  You either serve Jesus or you serve satan.  To serve Jesus is to choose life.  To serve satan is to choose death.  There are no other choices (Matthew 6:24, Luke 4:8, Luke 16:13, Joshua 24:15, John 11:25, John 14:6, John 20:31, Romans 6:23, Romans 8:2, 2 Corinthians 4:10, I Timothy 1:16, 2 Timothy 1:10, I John 5:20).  Now, I am here to tell you that the life of one who chooses Jesus is not always easy.  The life of one bought with the blood of Jesus is not for wimps.  We are told that before we choose to follow Jesus we must count the cost (Luke 14).

  Now what is that cost?

To follow Jesus, you will be persecuted (John 15:20); you will have trials and tribulations (I Peter 1:6, Matthew 24:9, John 16:33).  You could be called to give up your riches.  You could lose fellowship with the lost friends and family around you.  However, I am here to tell you that the cost of serving Jesus is not too high.  He is with you every step of the way.

What of the cost of not following Jesus?  We hear so much about Jesus kindness and mercy, and he is kinder and more merciful that you or I could ever imagine, that we seem to forget that he is also righteous and just.  To choose satan is to choose death and eternal damnation (Revelation 14:11).  To say you do not choose is to choose satan for there is no middle ground.  Jesus is the judge of all eternity.  Every man shall endure his judgment and those who are not covered with his blood shall face eternal judgment.  Those who are bought with his blood and their sins are forgiven shall live with him forever.  I am here to tell you that the benefits far outweigh the cost.  Through Jesus is victory over death and hell.  Through Jesus are strength and peace, joy and hope.  Through Jesus, you, too, can become a new creation.

Who do you choose?  Now is the time.  As for me, I choose Jesus!!!

If you would like to come to know the eternal benefits of choosing Jesus it is simple.  First, make sure you understand what was told to you of who he is and what it means to be separated from him.  Understand that you are a sinner, separated from God and that it is only through Jesus that you can be restored.  If you understand those things, then it is as simple as this.  You just tell him that you know you are not perfect and that you want to have his gift of salvation.  Accept his forgiveness.  Know his love.  He calls to you.  Tell him that you choose him.  If you make that choice this day or if you have any questions as to what to do or something remains unclear as to God’s plan for your salvation, please email me.  Let’s talk.  If you do accept Jesus as the Lord and Master of your life, email me, let me know.  Let us begin the journey together as you learn a new way of life.  Salvation is just the beginning of a new thing in your life.  It is only the beginning of learning to live the life of one bought with the blood of Jesus.  It does not end at the cross or the empty tomb.  Jesus will give you the strength to make any and all changes that he is calling you to make.  He will not leave you alone to try to find your way.  If you are a new believer or an old one who has yet to learn to walk with the Lord, follow me as we learn where to go from here.

May the Lord of Hosts, Creator God, Jehovah, bless you and yours with all the blessings of heaven.  May you come to know the one who has made me new.  May you learn to walk in the newness and the fullness that he longs for you to know.  For those of you who are ready to move into the next steps of walking with Jesus, come, let us continue this journey together, after all, we are family, related by blood, the only blood that matters, the blood of Jesus.  Take my hand and learn to walk.
