Faith that Moves Mountains

When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him.  “Lord , have mercy on my son,” he said.  “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water.  I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”

“O unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you?  How long shall I put up with you?  Bring the boy here to me.”  Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of  the boy, and he was healed from that moment.

Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”

He replied, “Because you have so little faith.  I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 17:14-21

Picture this, there is a boy who suffers seizures.  The Father knows it is demonic in origin.  He comes to you for help.  You are unable to cast the demon away.  Look at the Savior’s eyes here.  What do you see?  I see pain, anger, almost disgust.  Why would the Lord look like that?  Isn’t he a God of love?  Does he not understand?  I can hear him sigh as he says to bring the boy to him.  Do you hear his sigh?  Where is our faith today?  Where are the miracles?  Where is the healing of the Lord?  I tell you truth, it is our lack of faith.  Jesus told his disciples that he was tired of their lack of faith.  These same disciples had been healing the sick, but they seemed powerless over a demon.  Why was the Lord so weary of things here?  They, like us, share in the power and authority of the Lord.  When is the last time you saw the dead come to life, the lame walk, the sight restored, or the demons cast away?  I call to you with the call of Jesus.  Take up your pallet, quit lying around and get up and walk!  Walk in the faith he has given you.  Come, be bold in your faith.  Take a stand that, just as his word says, he does not change.  What Jesus did then, we should be seeing multiplied today.  In Jesus name it is time to take up the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and see his hand of healing, deliverance, and faith.  Jesus says that nothing will be impossible.  So why do we live lives of defeat and anguish?  Jesus said it was the lack of faith.  Let us look to the eyes of the Savior again.  Now what do you see?  POWER!!!  He has all power and all authority over all things in all heaven and earth.  We share in his authority as joint heirs.  Come, take up that authority for the sake of his name.  Walk a life of defeat no more.  Listen no longer to the teachings that say those things are past.  I did not hear Jesus say his power had passed.  Did you?  Understand, this is not our power, but his!  Put on the full armor of God, take your place within the ranks and lets do battle for the name of Jesus!

Father, I confess to you that I, too, walk in too little faith.  Lord, in Jesus name I do not understand why we don’t see the healings today that we should.  I don’t understand why we see so many illnesses that are caused by demons that you healed and yet we seem unable to even make a dent in.  Lord, in Jesus name, help us to learn that faith!! Father, show us the faith of the grain of a mustard seed, for the sake of the name of your son.  Let us learn to walk in the power that you want your children to walk.  Father, in Jesus name, you give to each a new measure of faith.  Give us the faith that is not swayed, does not doubt and is not afraid to take a stand.  Father, reveal to each the gifts of the spirit in which we are gifted.  In Jesus name, you restore what the devil has stolen from your body that you call the church.  In Jesus name, restore to your church the original power and love in which it was called to walk, amen!
