The Roaring Lion A nation has invaded my land, powerful and without number; it has the teeth of a lion, the fangs of a lioness. It has laid waste my vines and ruined my fig trees. It has stripped off the bark and thrown it away, leaving their branches bare. Joel 1:6-7 (NIV) He lies in wait like a lion in cover; he lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net. Psalm 10:9 (NIV) This is what the Lord says to me: As a lion growls, a great lion over his prey-and though a whole band of shepherds is called together against him, he is not frightened by their shouts or disturbed by their clamor-so the Lord Almighty will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights. Isaiah 31:4 (NIV) And a highway will be there: it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there, nor will any ferocious beast get up on it; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there. Isaiah 35:8-9 (NIV) But the Lord stood by my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. 2 Timothy 4:17 (NIV) Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV) Then I saw another mighty angel-coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun and his legs were like fiery pillars. He was holding a scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, and he gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion. When he shouted, the voices of the seven thunders spoke. Revelation 10:1-3 (NIV) Satan has a counterfeit for every true thing. This same is true for the lion. There is a roaring lion who goes about looking to destroy all that he can destroy. This lion is satan, the evil one. He comes to seek and to destroy. He is the lion that has invaded the house of the Lord. He is running rampant among the churches today. He is running rampant among believers. He has stripped the branches from the vine. We know that Jesus is the vine and we are those branches (John 15). Without Jesus the branches can grow no fruit. Look around you. Our churches have large numbers in them, yet where is the fruit? This lion, not the true one, has taken over. It is done according to many voices of prophecy in the Old Testament. Jesus said we had to be wary of no baring fruit. We are warned over and over again, in scripture, to be wary of this lion. He is NOT the Lion of Judah, who is Jesus. He is a fake, and yet he has carried away the spoils. He is not frightened when the shepherds gather. He has no fear, but one. His fear is the true Lion. We must enter that highway of holiness. We must not let satan continue to blind us and keep us off the right track. When we enter into this highway of holiness, the true Lion shall come to our defense. I come, once again, to something I believe the Lord has spoken to me. There is one thing holding back his return. It is us, those who claim to be believers! We are not ready! He cannot come until we learn to walk in that Elijah faith. He has been held off and we have been attacked repeatedly because we will not walk in the faith we have been called to walk. WE are called to live and dwell on Mt. Zion. Mt. Zion is the holy mountain, the mountain of the Lord Jesus. There is hope, believers! Our hope is Jesus!! Come follow the Lord onto that pathway of holiness. Come, let us leave behind those roaring lions that are not him. Do not be fooled any longer. Look to the Eastern Sky for our deliverer draweth near when we call to him. Father, help us to be set free from this roaring lion that is not of you. In Jesus name show us where and how he has invaded our churches. Father, turn us from our wicked ways and bring us unto Mt. Zion to dwell with you. Lord, in Jesus name, do not let us be killed and destroyed. Deliver us from the mouth of this lion, in Jesus name. Jesus come down and do battle! Lord, put your foot upon the earth and the seas and come to bring that lion down. Make us pure and holy, in Jesus name. Remove that lion from within us that is not the true lion, that we may walk the highway called Holiness, in Jesus name, amen.
