Enemy Free Land
I will drive the northern army far from you, pushing it into a parched and barren land, with its front columns going into the eastern sea and those in the rear into the western sea. And its stench will go up; its smell will rise. Surely he has done great things. Joel 2:20
The Lord said to me, “From the north disaster will be poured out on all who live in the land. I am about to summon all the peoples of the northern kingdoms,” declares the Lord. “Their kings will come and set up their thrones in the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem; they will come against all her surrounding walls and against all the towns of Judah. Jeremiah 14-15 (NIV)
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12 (NIV)
The enemy is surrounding the people of God. In fact, the enemy has entered our ranks. This northern army comes in the sense of false teachings, witchcraft, and much more in our churches. We have invited the enemy in and asked the enemy to sit down with us. We teach the doctrine of man, the doctrine of demons, and not the doctrine of God. Now, this army is not a literal physical army, but rather, rulers, authorities, powers and spiritual forces that have come against the children of God. The enemy has stolen the gifts of God. The enemy has rendered the children of God all but totally powerless. When we humble ourselves before God and let him fill us in the way we have been talking about, this enemy shall be driven out! This is a spiritual battle, folks, and right now, the church of the Lord does not seem to be faring real well! However, we have read the end of the story.
The best is yet to come for those who are willing to be made holy before the Lord. He shall drive the enemy from our midst. He shall separate the sheep from the goats. He shall reveal the abomination that causes desolation, that we might be set free from him. When we do as the Lord says he desires for us to do, this enemy shall find itself in a land of desolation. In that day, the church of God shall be free from this enemy and shall be free to serve the Lord Most High in the truest sense. Then, we shall be free from the bondage that we have sold ourselves into. Then, we shall begin to experience the blessings of God.
Father, I long for the day when you drive this northern army from our midst. Father, in Jesus name, we come against the rulers, the powers, the principalities of darkness and command they be banished to that place of desolation, apart from your people. Lord, in Jesus name, do not let this enemy continue to hold your people down. Father, as Moses said to the Pharoah, we command in the name of Jesus that the enemy let your people go! Father, in Jesus name, hasten our learning that this time be made complete, amen.
