…and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. Exodus 14:22 (NIV) Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up and struck the water with it. The water divided to the right and to the left, and the two of them crossed over on dry ground. 2 Kings 2:8 (NIV) When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. Isaiah 43:2a (NIV) “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. Matthew 14:29 (NIV) For many of you, it seems that you are up against a sea of things that you cannot seem to get across. The saints of old walked through waters on dry ground. Today we have a higher calling of a higher order. Like Peter, we can walk on the water. The power to walk on the water has been given to us through Jesus. We can walk above the troubles that come upon us. We are called to be water walkers. Forget the skis, forget the boat, forget the life preservers, and walk with Jesus above the troubles. Know that he will go with you, when you pass through those waters. Know that as long as you look to him, you will not sink. Know that as long as you keep your eyes focused on him, you can walk above the troubles of this day. His is the power that we are called to walk in. He is our hope when our troubles pursue us and we have come to that ocean that threatens to be our downfall. He has called you to walk on that water of trouble. He is your strength. He will not let you drown. Father, I do not understand all there is to know of walking on the waters of this life. However, you know all that is to know of all things. Lord, be with me in this time when it seems that I am against a wall of trouble that is threatening to destroy me. Teach me to walk in the faith that you have made a way. Jesus, you are my hope. You are my salvation. You have promised that I do not have to go this alone. I praise you that you are with me and that you will not let the things of this earth destroy me. I praise you that you have made a way, in Jesus name, amen. All rights reserved: Amy Seelbach To be added to the devotionals daily mailings, click on the button below.
