When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2b They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. Acts 2:3 Everyone will be salted with fire. Mark 9:49 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29 Just as we are called to walk on water, through Jesus, we can stand the trial by fire and not be consumed with it. In fact, we can walk through fire and not be burned. In the early days of the New Testament Church, we see the Holy Spirit come in power, as tongues of fire. Now, we know that God is a consuming fire. To endure trial by fire without being consumed is an awesome power granted to us through the Lord Jesus Christ. Death has no hold on you. The Lake of Fire is no threat for you have endured the fire of God, already. When Jesus died and rose again, he then ascended that the fire of the Holy Spirit might come and those who believe would have no fear of the eternal Lake of Fire. As believers, when we are seasoned with the fire of the Holy Spirit and we endure the trials of fire that come to us and help to make us holy, we stand firm on the word of God and come through looking more like Jesus with each new firing. Praise the Lord, that fire cannot harm us, for we have the Lord living in us! Father, at times the heat of the fire seems more than we can bear. Father, we choose to stand on your word and to walk in the power of Jesus. We stand that the fire cannot harm us, but only serves to season us. Lord, help each one not to stumble and fall when those trials by fire come. Hold each one close as they are molded in the image of the one who created them. Lord, in Jesus name, give us the strength to go through the fire and not be burned. I praise your name that the Lake of Fire has no hold on me, for I am bought with the blood of Jesus. I praise your name that my time of fire is now and not for all eternity. I praise you that I am called to walk through the fire. I praise your name that you have gone before me and that you hold me close in Jesus name, amen. All rights reserved: Amy Seelbach To be added to the devotionals mailings, click on the button below.
