He is the Rock, his works are perfect and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. Deuteronomy 32:4 (NIV) For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) We are the works of the one who is perfect and his works are perfect. Now, do not misread that statement. Short of Jesus and his gift of salvation, we are NOT perfect. However, in Christ Jesus there is perfection come to each of us. He is the Rock that was made perfect. The day he called to you and you answered his call, he began a work in you that he shall carry on till it is done. In the end, you will come out gleaming as gold, made perfect through the hand of the Lord. We have a job to do while on this earth. Each of us has things that he has prepared for us to do. We must seek to find those things that he has prepared for us. What about the person who sits next to you at work? Could that be one of the works that the Lord has prepared for you? What about the spouse or family member that you have quarreled with? Could that be a work prepared for you? Every trial, every temptation, every hardship is to be for his glory, worked out for your good. Use those things to share with others the faithfulness of the God you serve. I have heard it said, “God don’t make no junk.” I happen to believe that. No matter what you were, you are made new in Jesus. No matter what you have done, you are perfect in Jesus. No matter how human you are, how much you fall, how far you have gone, he is making you in the image of Jesus. God is a merciful God and he is a just God. When it seems that you are getting nothing but the trash, know that he is just and true. When it seems that you are being hurt everywhere you turn, know that he is just. Each shall be rewarded according to their works in Jesus. What reward are you earning? I long to receive the greatest rewards he can give. In order to do that, I must always listen and be willing to go where he say to go, do what he says to do and to say what he says to say. This is the time to have the faith that the Lord is faithful and just. He shall not let the evil deeds go unpunished nor the good things go without reward. Praise his holy name for he is the just and perfect Rock on which I stand. Father, I thank you that you are the Rock. Lord, thank you that you are faithful and true. Thank you that you are a just God, even when it seems evil is rewarded while the faithful go without. I choose to believe what my eyes may not see. I choose to believe that you are exactly what you say you are. In Jesus name, make me pure and holy. In Jesus name, continue the work you have begun in me and carry it to completion in Christ Jesus. For the sake of the name of Jesus, do not give up on me nor let me fall by the wayside. Teach me to walk in you. In Jesus name, amen. All rights reserved: Amy Seelbach
