Then the Lord will appear over them; his arrow will flash like lightening. The Sovereign Lord will sound the trumpet; he will march in the storms of the south and the Lord Almighty will shield them. They will destroy and overcome with slingstones. They will drink and roar as with wine; they will be full like a bowl used for sprinkling the corners of the altar. The Lord their God will save them on that day as the flock of his people. They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown. Zechariah 9:14-16 (NIV)
The rock from which we are hewn, Jesus, shall sound the trumpet. From that rock, we shall become as jewels in a crown. We have looked at the rock now look at what we become when we trust the stonecutter as he polishes us and cuts away the flaws. He is making us like jewels in a crown. Both the Rock and the stonecutter is Jesus. He is preparing each of us for the day of his return. He is preparing the bride for the bridegroom. We have looked at the Rock. We have seen the glory. We have read the promise. Now, come and trust in the one who has won the fight. Jesus said that it is finished, accomplished, over, and done with. Now, we wait to see the final product. Just as the rock that is being cut by the stonecutter does not look beautiful or complete during the process, we only see the stone that is being cut, imperfect, flawed, and incomplete. Jesus sees the jewels we are. You are a like a jewel in the crown of the King. The King, himself is the jeweler, the stonecutter. He shall make sure that you are complete and beautiful when the end has come. Let him complete the work that makes you the jewel of beauty that he knows is there. Learn to sparkle for the stonecutter is at hand. Father, I thank you that you are the stonecutter. I thank you that Jesus is the stone from which we are hewn. I thank you that you see the finished product when all we see are the flaws. Father, polish us and chip away all that does not resemble the jewels that we are called to be. Chip away all that does not look like Jesus. In Jesus name and for the sake of his name, you finish that which you have started. In Jesus name teach us to sparkle like jewels in a crown. Amen.
