It's antiphonal, with 2 speakers alternating through it. Otherwise, it should be pretty self-explanatory. Enjoy........ Come unto Me (Matt 11:28-30: 11 May 2001) O Lord I labor Long and weary As I heed the demands of a restless being. -- Come unto Me You who labor And are heavy laden. -- My God I am weak and tired From the constant anguish of working And working To meet a goal I sometimes can't remember. -- Come unto Me And I will give you rest. -- Each moment I bear upon my shoulders An iron load of worry And fear That I will not meet the standard I've set. -- Take My yoke upon you And learn of Me. -- I run Ever seeking that greatness That is always out of reach Or too hard to defend. Oh, that someone would take the time To guide me in a new adventure. -- Take My yoke upon you For I am meek and lowly of heart And you will find rest unto your soul. -- I fight Day after day On and on My mind imprisoned in an eternal struggle Of over-reaching till I hurt And reaching more That I might deny the pain And hurting more And reaching more Until .... I learn to stop and trust You. .... Come unto Me For My yoke is easy And My burden is light. Used With Permission of Author: Ray McAllister Well, I actually wrote this poem a few weeks ago. It's just another poem comparing spirituality to daily activities. Enjoy. Dusting (21 April 2001) Once again I move about Within my heart Trying to clear away All the dust of disorder That hides Your beauty And chokes my spirit. With fierce detail I check each corner Each secret space In this endless job Of cleaning And re-cleaning And re-cleaning To keep my soul from surrendering To the ever-accumulating film of unpleasantness That freely floats In even the most guarded existence. I see another place of talent Once more Left unused And Once more Its life and grace Grow silently Softly Buried amid this cover of death To which all must return Who cease to thrive. And yet O God Let me yield And simply believe That in spite of my sin My imperfection You Who makes all things new Can form for me From this dust A miracle. Used With Permission Of Author...
