Little Andy Talks with God

About Revival
Hi there, Mr. God, Sir.
It's me, little Andy, here, today.
I gotta tell ya what happened.
We went to somthun' called a 'vival, yesterday.
I was mostly scared.
The man, he was big and boy could he yell;
Said he didn't want any of the kids,
At church, fallin' into hell.
He screamed and pointed his finger
At some of the other guys
And asked if they worked for the devil,
And did they know that he is a king of lies.
They laughed at him, Mr. God.
But, boy---- not me!
'Cause I didn't want him yellin' and pointin',
And gettin' mad at me.
Boy, ya should've been there.
It was really loud and stuff.
Some people got up and left,
Said they had enough.
But, Momma and daddy listened really good
And daddy said, "AMEN," some
Even when they wasn't prayin'.
I think that is kinda dumb.
Sister got to stay in the nursery.
I wish I could've, too.
But momma says I'm a big boy, now,
And I need to get to know you.
Hey, Mr. God, they said
That you were there, last night.
I didn't see ya. But, if daddy said
Then, daddy's always right.
The big man said we need to get
The Holy Ghost in us.
I'm scared of ghosts and things.
But, it's ok if it's the ghost of Jesus.
Does that ghost come when Jesus is busy?
I didn't see him there, at all.
If you were there, did you see us?
We were sitting by the door, by the hall.
I waved, in case ya seen me.
I looked just every where for you.
I ain't never seen ya a'fore.
But, I guess some other people do.
Do ya gotta be a big people to see ya,
Not little guys like me?
Do we have to get so big
A'fore our eyes can see?
Do ya think that preacher man
Is mad at me for somthun'?
'Cause, he yelled a lot.
Was it somthun' that I done.
I hid behind daddy, some,
'Cause I think the big man was mad.
Daddy says it's cause he hates the devil
For making people do bad.
If ya can come by, tonight,
Will you sit by us?
Daddy says the church is full
Of people lovin' Jesus.
Tell Him the singin' was good.
They sung about growed up things, though.
I tried to hum a little and whistle.
They were words of songs I don't know.
Well, Mr. God, I hope
You can make it for tonight and see.
I know I won't be so scared
If'n you're there with me.
Well, Mr. God, I gotta go.
A 'vival starts at seven.
You better start out early,
If ya gotta drive all the way from heaven.
See ya later. I love ya.
Hi to the family.
Tell them I love them, too.
From me, little Andy.
