Little Andy Talks with God

Whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18:6

The Baby Sittin' Lady

Hi, Mr. God. It’s me, lil' Andy.
I need ta asked ya somthin'.
I'll try not ta cry.
It's what the baby sittin' lady done.

Momma an Daddy had to leave,
Ta go to a meetin'.
So, they called a lady
For baby sittin'.

She taked all nice ta momma
An she said she loveded us kids, an stuff.
She was gonna watch grandma, too.
Momma said she seemed nice a'nuff'.

Momma told her 'bout lil' sis,
How she's gettin' a tooth, taday;
An she’s a lil' sick an all, an cries some,
An don’t feel good a'nuff ta play.

The sitter lady says, "That’s ok,"
Said she would rock her 'nite 'nite
An she would watch the TV with me;
Not ta worry, ever thing gonna be aw'right.

Daddy says ya see ever thing that happens.
So, Mr. God, did ya see
The sitter lady gots real mad
An hitted lil' sis an me?

She gots mad 'cause lil' sis was cryin'.
But, Mr. God, she couldn't help it.
If’n she didn’t like us kids,
She shouldn't baby sit.

She spankeded lil' sis
An tucked her ta her bed.
Lil' sis was scared; an me, too.
An, I heard some bad words the sitter lady said.

Lil' sis cried ta sleep.
An, she sitted me in a chair
An hitted my leg with a swatter,
An telled me ta stay there ...

'Cause I 'splained' ta her
How sis was a feelin' bad.
An, Mr. God, that made her
A whole lot more mad.

I jest wanted momma ta come home,
An help sis an me.
Daddy would've spankeded her right back,
Mr. God. Wouldn't he?

She talkeded on the phone a lot
An said some bad words, too.
She did bad things
Like bad peoples do.

I wanna tell mommy and daddy
'Bout the sittin' lady, tanight.
Daddy will make her go way.
Daddy will make'er do right.

The sitter lady called me
A bad, mean, lil' kid.
But, I wasn't bad, Mr. God.
But she was bad, for what she did.

I gots ta go now, Mr. God.
I hear mommy an daddy.
Daddy listens ta you, he says.
So, would ya please come an help me?

I love ya bunches, Mr. God.
From lil' Andy
