Little Andy Talks with God

Cain an Abel
Hi, Mr. God.
It's me, little Andy, again.
Were ya still up?
Are ya listenin'?
Daddy was readin' your book
To all the people yes'erday.
I guess they don't read so good,
'Cause he reads ta 'em ever Sunday.
Momma says it's his job.
I can't read, neither.
Any way, he read us a story
About these two brothers.
One's name was Cain
An Abel was the other's.
They lived a long time ago,
After you made the nice garden
An the lady ate the bad apple.
Then, they had to leave, 'cause they sinned.
The one was a good boy. He was a shepherd.
Momma says daddy is a shepherd, too.
I dunno 'bout that (we got no sheep).
But, if momma says, then, it's true.
Any ways, Abel was a good boy
An Cain was not nice, one day.
He was a farmer, like grandpa was
Before he went ta your house ta stay.
Well, daddy says you asked
For them to bring a offering.
I dunno, for sure.
I think it is money he's s'pose to bring.
Daddy says you liked Abel's,
'Cause he loved ya a lot.
But, I guess, Cain wasn't nice
An ya didn't like what he brought.
So, one day, Cain called up Abel
An says, "Come, see my farm. Ok?"
So, Abel went, like he said.
(I use'ta like goin' to grandpa's farm ta play.)
I think Cain wanted
Abel ta help plant somethin'.
But, Cain got mad (Huh, Mr. God?)
An killed him, an ya seen what he done.
Daddy says ya came ta the farm
An said, "Where's your brother, Cain?"
An Cain got all mean an sassy to ya,
An he wouldn't 'splain.
He didn't know that ya knowed
'Cause he thought nobody knew.
So, ya sent him away (Huh, Mr. God), right?
Daddy says ya made a mark on him
So people would know he liked ta fight.
I was wonderin', Mr. God,
Is he in heaven, with you?
Can people still go ta heaven
If'n they change an get ta love ya, too?
Sometimes, when I'm bad, I get afraid
Ya won't love me anymore.
Please, Mr. God, keep lovin' me
An make me good, like before.
I don't mean ta be bad.
But, sometimes, I get things wrong.
I wish I knowed ever thing.
So, please don't be mad for too long.
Daddy says, if I say I'm sorry,
You will always hear me.
So, I'm sorry, Mr. God.
If'n I was bad, I didn't mean ta be.
I love you an
Jesus, an his mommy,
An all the angels, an lil' Sis, an,
'Specially, my momma an daddy.
Well, good night, Mr. God.
Kiss ever one up there. Ok?
An, thanks for your bible book
Daddy read to us, yes'erday.
'Night, from Little Andy.
