Little Andy Talks with God

He from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. Luke 11:7

A Child's Prayer

Hello, Mr. God. It's me, again;
Little Andy.
How ya doing this mornin'?
I hope, just fine an dandy.

Did ya get some rest last night
Or were ya busy, like most always,
Making the world, for me, just right?

I saw that pretty moon, last night,
An so many twinkling stars.
I bet ya had extra work, yes'erday,
Checkin' out what we were doin' up on mars.

I see ya made some new babies.
They came ta earth, yes'erday,
Ta bring some mommy some smiles
An blessin's on their way.

Do ya like being a daddy
Ta my friend, Jesus?
Thanks for lettin' me talk ta him ~
Ta thank Him for what He did for us.

I seen pictures of him at Sunday School,
Talkin' with little children like me.
He sure looks very nice
An momma says he set us free.

Hey there, Mr. God. I'm just askin',
Since he got back home with you,
Does he still have his chore, like before,
An just what is it that he has ta do?

I know there are children up there.
Do they get ta play with the clouds an stars?
Hey, do they have school an all,
An still have ta learn the three R's?

I like school, sometimes.
But, I like summer better.
Do ya suppose, if I wrote ta Jesus,
He would answer my letter?

I just wanted ta tell him
I love him very much.
I'd like ta share my toys with him;
Like my crayons, books, an such.

Hey, Mr. God. How big are ya?
Really big, I bet.
Is it true your foot prints make the oceans an
Did ya make mountains from a play dough set?

Momma says ya know ever one.
So, ya must know my friends, too.
Do ya love 'em as much as me,
Even though they don't believe in you.

But, hey, Mr. God. I keep telling 'em,
Maybe, you will call 'em up, some day.
Then, they would really believe an
You can come into their heart ta stay.

Daddy says ya hold the world
In your mighty hands
An, before I was ever born;
For my life, ya made plans.

That is really nice of you an
I hope I will make ya proud of me.
But, can I get fully growed up first ~
Before I become what I'm s'pose ta be?

Hey, there, God. When I get ta heaven,
Can I come an see your house, pretty please?
An then, if I am really good,
Can I fish in the crystal seas?

Well, I hope I didn't disturb ya or anything.
If'n you're busy, I'll come back after 'while.
Daddy says our prayers often make ya smile.

I dunno, as I'm a prayin' ...
I was just a visitin'.
Hope I didn't make ya all nervous.
Were you listenin' to the angels sing?

Well, I'll see ya, maybe, tamorrow;
If'n ya don't mind that is.
Tell Jesus an his mommy 'hi' for me
And tell him I am a friend of his.

Have a real good day up there.
Get some rest, ok?
Thanks for talkin' with me.
Now, I gotta go an play.

If Jesus isn't too busy, maybe,
He would like ta come along, too.
If ya want, Mr. God,
We got enough room for you.

See ya later.

SOMETIMES, THE SWEETEST PRAYER
IS FROM THE LIPS OF A CHILD,
IN THEIR OPEN THOUGHTS AND EXPRESSIONS.
WE ALL NEED TO THINK LIKE CHILDREN.
IN SOME WAYS, THEIRS IS THE GREATER FAITH.
