Our Father

The Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.

which art in heaven,

Heaven is God's throne and he looks to see if there are any that seek him.

Hallowed be thy name.

Ye shall not profane my holy name; I will be hallowed among the children of Israel.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

Thy will be done in earth,

Come to do thy will.

as it is in heaven.

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Give us this day

Enter into covenant with the Lord thy God, and into his oath, which the Lord thy God maketh with thee this day: That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; But with him that standeth here with us this day before the Lord our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day.

our daily bread.

He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil; He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

And forgive us our debts,

Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. For by grace are ye saved through faith; grace for grace. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

as we forgive our debtors.

It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.

And lead us not into temptation,

Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord understand all things.

but deliver us from evil:

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

All mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

and the power,

Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.

and the glory,

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

for ever.

As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

Amen.

The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God.
