Little Andy Talks with God

The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. Isaiah 57:1

Joseph

Hi there, Mr. God.
It's me, again, little Andy.
Guess what! I won a prize,
A whole bunch of candy ...

'Cause I'm learning Bible verses
From the book ya wrote.

It told about a boy,
Named Joseph,
An his pretty coat.
His daddy loved him most.

I dunno why though.
I bet'cha that made his brothers mad
An they wanted him ta go.
Then, ya know what?

He dreamed an
They didn't like that at all.
They got really really mad.
They threw him in a hole
That was way big an tall.

They were goin' ta cover him up
An tell their daddy a big lie.
They said a woof ate him
An that made him die.

But, he had one brother
Who wasn't bad as the rest, maybe.
He said, "Give him to the camel people.
They can have him for free."

Mr. God, I feel so sad ~
'Cause they told their daddy a bad lie.
But, Joseph was gave away
An he didn't really die.

The boys were mean an needed a spankin'
(Ain't that what you'd do?),
'Cause his daddy cried a lot.
But, he thought he was in heaven with you.

Well, any ways,
Joseph went ta live in a place
Where there was, kinda like, a king.
Daddy called him a differ'nt name.
But, it was the same thing.

Sometimes, Joseph went ta prison
An, then, he had a dream an got out.
I'm not sure I un'erstand
What that was all about.

Then, Mr. God,
All the food didn't grow very good
An Joseph heard ya tell him first.
So, Joseph said he knowed that it would.

So, he told 'em,
"Put the extra food in barns an a cave,"
An when the bad things came
They would have a'nuff,
From what they had ta save.

Then, one day,
After Joseph was growed,
His mean ole brothers came.
But, he was someone they didn't know.

He told them, "Go, get my daddy,"
An they cried, an were sorry a lot ~
'Cause Joseph loved 'em anyways
An he shared ever thing he got.

He was rich,
Aw'most like the king.
So, teacher says what happened
Was a good thing.

I'm 'fused, though, 'bout somethin'.
Why didn't Joseph go home,
When he was growed,
An tell his daddy 'bout the bad boys?

Then, his daddy would knowed.
I'm sure, Mr. God,
That ya always make things right.
Thanks for the Bible book ya wrote.

Now, I gotta say 'good night'.
Tell Jesus, an his mommy, I love 'em.
From little Andy
