Little Andy Talks with God

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17

About My Little Sister

Hi, Mr. God. Are ya up, yet?
It's me, little Andy.
I know I am here a little early.
Here, ya want some candy?

Just take as much as ya want.
Momma bought a whole lot.
They're all sleepin' 'cause they're tired,
'Cause of that new baby that we got.

She's kinda cute, I guess.
But, she cries; 'specially at night.
Maybe she is scared of the dark,
After momma turns out the light.

She's not like me, she doesn't know
That ya sent angels for all of us.
If'n she knew that, Mr. God,
Maybe she wouldn't fuss.

Yes'erday, she smiled jest at me,
When I told her who I was.
She jest kicked her feet an cooed;
S'pose like all babies does.

She sure uses a lot of clothes.
Momma's always washin' for her.
She wets a lot an spits up;
That's for sure.

The way I figured it out, Mr. God,
She has ta wear all those little dresses.
I don't think she likes 'em.
So, she fusses an makes lots of messes.

She can't talk, ya know.
But, she can spit bubbles an likes to giggle.
When I sing ta her, she looks around.
I think she wants ta dance; she can wiggle.

Mr. God, hey, are ya awake
Or did she keep ya up all night, too?
I was wonderin'.
Is that what girls are s'pose ta do?

Did Jesus cry, at a lot, at night
Or did he know the angels were there?
O, dunno if ya forgot, Mr. God.
But, ya didn't give sister any hair.

Momma says she'll get some, pretty soon.
So, she has ta wear girlie clothes
Or ya wouldn't know if she a boy or girl.
Jest in case, momma puts on her head some bows.

Momma calls her a little angel, from God.
Well, the other day, I peeked to see.
She didn't have any wings.
She ain't no differ'nt than me.

I told momma. But, she jest smiled.
It doesn't matter. She doesn't need wings
An she ain't got a halo either.
She jest does little baby angel things.

Mr. God, Sir, I bet I got ya up.
Do ya wanna go back to sleep?
Jest want ta tell ya 'thanks for sister'.
She looks good a'nuff ta keep.

If momma an daddy want another baby
(If it's alright with you),
I would ask for one more thing.
Would ya send me a puppy, too?

Well, tell Jesus I love him an
Sorry I got ya up so early, taday.
Maybe, you can get a nap.
I'll just run an play.

I would'a brought ya some coffee.
But, momma won't let me cook.
She tells me, "Little Andy,
Go and read your little book."

I guess I'll see ya later
An, maybe, Jesus will be up, then.
If there's a better time for me ta come,
Just call an tell me when.

Bye, for now.
Your friend,
Little Andy
