Little Andy Talks with God

Momma's Mad
Hi there, Mr. God.
It's me, little Andy, again.
I think momma's really mad at me
'Cause she said, "Just you wait
Until your dad gets home, you'll see."
Mr. God, I'm not really sure
Just what I must of did ~
'Less she found the broken vase,
Under the couch, I hid.
Mr. God, I didn't mean ta break it.
Ya see, I was jumpin' up an down,
An momma seen me doin' it,
An she had on her 'head ache' frown.
I guess I should'a stopped.
But when she left the room,
I jumped, one more time (well, maybe, two)
An the vase went ka'boom.
You see, Mr. God,
It's hard ta be a little kid, ya know,
An, when I'm not good, momma says,
"Andy, your good manners didn't show."
Sometimes, daddy calls me
Her little man an says, "If any one
Can make her smile, little Andy can."
I s'pose it won't work, this time,
'Cause momma is so upset
An, when I broke that vase,
I got the table an carpet wet.
Hey, Mr. God, I'm really sorry
'Cause I don't want ta be bad
An, when momma gets mad,
It makes me feel so sad.
Sometimes, being a kid is tough.
(I don't s'pose Jesus ever broke a vase.)
An when I tell a fib,
Momma says it shows on my face.
I wish I was good, like Jesus,
An be just like he was.
But, some how, Mr. God, I can't do it.
Dunno why, just 'cause.
I love ya, Mr. God.
I hope ya love me, too.
I'll try harder, cross my heart,
Ta do better than I usually do.
Have a real good day up there.
Tell the angels, "Hi," from me. Ok?
I'll be back later, Mr. God,
An thanks for listenin' taday.
Well, Sir, I gotta go.
Daddy will be home real soon.
I gotta learn a new song. Momma says
I'll be singin' a differ'nt tune.
Dunno what that means.
But, she said an that makes it so.
An I hear her calling,
So, I gotta run an go.
Bye, for now.
Tell Jesus an his mom, "Hello,"
From little Andy, Sir.
Momma will talk to you, a little later.
I'm sure you're gonna hear from her.
I'm so sorry.
