Little Andy Talks with God

Noah
Hi, Mr. God.
It's me, little Andy.
I heard a Bible story, taday,
My teacher says is true.
She told us about Noah.
You said, "Build an ark for me."
I think it is a real big boat;
I think, like ~ bigger then a tree.
Teacher says it took a long, long, time
Ta build this ark boat.
How did those people, back then,
Know how ta make it float?
Any ways, the people all laughed an
Made fun of him, an said he was crazy.
She said the people were all mean an bad;
That they forgot ta love ya an were lazy.
Were ya mad at them, Mr. God?
Teacher says they didn't mind ya.
Boy, if I didn't mind momma an daddy,
They'd feel sad an I would, too!
But, Mr. God,
Maybe they didn't know better, maybe;
'Cause, sometimes, it's hard ta un'erstand
What I can't see.
Any ways, teacher said
Noah had ta find all the animals.
There was horses an cats, an dogs
An elephants, an tigers, an camels.
He had ta find two of ever one,
Of ever kind ya made (Wow!)
An put them on the big boat;
Like a farm, with chickens an a cow.
Then, teacher said that
Noah took his family in the big boat
An, she said, ya shut the door;
An then, ya sent the rain
An made it float.
Teacher says the bad people
Couldn't get in, at all.
Then, they drowned, Mr. God,
'Cause the water got too tall.
She says they climbed in trees an
Cried, 'cause they were gonna die.
No one was left,
After the water growed so high.
What I was wonderin', Mr. God,
Will that happen, someday, again?
'Cause I heard daddy say
This old world is full of sin.
'Nother thing,
How do ya keep all those guys
From eatin' each other up an
How did Noah catch them flies?
I bet'cha Mrs. Noah didn't like
The mess they made, at all!
(Momma wouldn't like it, neither.)
An, was there a hole in the roof
For the giraffe, 'cause he is so tall?
I like animals, a lot.
'Specially, I'd like a little puppy;
A spotted one, with floppy ears,
An I would call him 'Tuffy'.
I wish I knowed Noah an
Helped on the ark, for awhile.
I could help feed the little guys,
An I could sleep in a big hay pile.
I bet'cha it's most fun, like campin',
Like we used ta do.
Was there lots of lightnin' bugs?
Or, was there just two?
Well, Mr. God,
That's what teacher says he did,
'Cause you 'cided people were bad.
I hope I don't make ya mad, 'cause, I'm jest a kid.
I sure like those stories
That she tells me, from your book.
An, I'm learnin', in Sunday School,
How ta bow my head ta pray (an not ta look).
I like teacher, a whole lot a bunches,
An she smells so pretty, too.
She knowed 'bout us kids
An a whole lot about you.
I telled her,
"I got Jesus in my heart, now."
She gave me a big hug an
She 'splained I am her brother, now.
Well, I gotta go, now.
Thanks for savin' Noah an the rest.
Daddy says we need ta leave things ta you,
'Cause ya always know what's best.
Night ~ and tell Jesus 'hello'
An I love him more each day.
An, tell the angels I 'preciate them
Watchin' over me when I sleep an play.
From little Andy
