Little Andy Talks with God

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

Visitin'

Hi ya, Mr. God.
Ya knowed what I did, taday.
I went visitin' with daddy
Ta readed his Bible an pray.

First we went to a kinda kid’s jail,
Ta see some one there.
He looked really really mean;
He had ink marks in his hair.

He beat some body up
An hurt the man bad,
An tooked his money an runned.
It was all he had.

His mommy goes ta our church
An she called, an was a cryin'.
Daddy says he turned mean, like that,
When his own daddy was a dyin'.

Momma had 'pointment for lil' sis,
Ta get a shot.
She’s been a little sick
An momma says she feelded pretty hot.

Daddy prayed with momma and lil' sis
For ya ta make her better again.
So, I got ta go with daddy;
But I liked ta be with him.

Any ways, daddy talkeded
From your Bible book an prayed.
An then, daddy hugged him
'Cause daddy says he was 'fraid.

He didn’t looked so mean then,
After daddy shooked his hand
An said, "I love ya, son.
Let’s see what God has planned."

When we leaved there,
Even daddy cried.
He says the boy is in a lot of trouble
'Cause the man he beated up jest died.

Then, Mr. God,
We went to a rest home ta visit.
It made me sad jest ta be there.
It’s a really sad place, ain't it?

Some of the peoples slobbered, like sis,
An couldn't walk any more.
Some smiled, though,
When they seed daddy comed ta the door.

Lots touched me on the head
An wanted me to sit on their lap.
Daddy said, "It's ok, son. Go ahead."
We didn’t visit them that was takin' a nap.

Daddy holded their hands
An patted 'em on the shoulder.
Daddy says this happens, a lot,
As peoples get a lot older.

Some couldn't see, neither,
Or hear real good.
But most asked daddy to hurry back,
As soon as he could.

Daddy told them 'bout Jesus
An they singed some songs, too.
But, Mr. God, some cried.
I dunno why, do you?

They asked daddy ta stay longer.
But, he tolded 'em he had ta go
'Cause we had more visitin' ta do;
We kin come back, jest let us know.

Ya knowed, Mr. God,
I liked helpin' daddy, taday,
'Cause I'm workin' for you, daddy says.
An I even boweded my head when we pray.

I liked it a whole bunch
When daddy read from the book.
I can't read, yet. But, I seen
The pictures that ya took.

I'm tired, Mr. God,
An thanks for getting unsick, again.
Tell Jesus and his mommy 'hi',
An tell 'em where I've been.

Good night, Mr. God.
I love ya.
Bye, from Little Andy.
