~ We are all children of the most High. ~
Psalm 82:6

~ Let No Man Deceive You ~

If you are not free to serve God,
it is not yet the truth.
Thy word is truth.
John 17:17

~ Enlighten My Heart ~
Draw Me Nearer
Sequencer Unknown
Enlighten the eyes of my heart, that I may know
The hope to which I am called; You love me so!
Your glorious riches and power are mine,
Inherited through Your royal bloodline.
A child of the King, I am Calvary bought;
My forgiveness, my mercy, my grace, I am wrought,
With nail scarred hands gently molded by You,
My burdens are many my talents are few.
Unworthy I stand before You this day,
Your servant I am. Please, show me the way.
My dreams, my desires, my will matters not.
I'm broken before You, Lord. You choose my lot.
At the foot of the cross, I do humbly lay.
My pride, my ambition, now empty, I say,
Fill my cup, Lord, with Your Spirit Divine.
My precious Sweet Jesus, Your will is now mine!
Bestow on me as You choose to this day,
Be it hardship or joy, I will gladly obey.

"I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened
in order that you may know the hope to which He has called
you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints,
and His incomparably great power for us who believe ..."
Ephesians 1:18-19 (NIV)
Is the Old Testament relevant to the modern day church?
Search the scriptures (New Testament hadn't yet been written); for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
And do the Old Testament promises still count?
You are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises. All things are yours. Be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
What about those who yell that we are not Israel?
He that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
Well, who is right, those who have church on Saturday or those who meet on Sunday?
On the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. But be ye holy; for I am holy.
Let no man judge you of the sabbath days. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation.
What about the argument over KJV vs. other translations?
By him all things consist. Let no man judge you in meat, or in drink.
But, shouldn't one be more educated to serve?
If there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
Aren't the educated more qualified to serve?
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. Know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Wouldn't the young be less qualified to serve?
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
But, shouldn't the best get first dibs?
Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.
Well, how can they receive one who isn't more studied?
The kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
And shouldn't one wait until their leader approves them for service?
No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
But, what if others think they are not ready?
They judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
Well, I heard of one who certainly does not sound ready.
Enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
So, when should our service begin?
In the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
With people telling us otherwise, how can we know who to believe?
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. And if the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. |

When ye sin so against the brethren,
and wound their weak conscience,
ye sin against Christ.
But now being made free from sin,
and become servants to God,
ye have your fruit unto holiness,
and the end everlasting life.
1 Corinthians 8:12, Romans 6:22
