~ We Have Different Rules ~
To Know Him is to Love Him

One thing God's sheep are known for is encountering trials. The messes we make, the struggles we face, and the horrors that come our way can sometimes seem endless. Even our service is more work than joy and reaps little result or reward.
All of that would suddenly change if we could just get this one thing. We cannot overcome, succeed, or achieve any kind of spiritual greatness by the world's methods. WE HAVE DIFFERENT RULES.
When we remove "I" from any situation (how I feel, what I think, how it will make me look, I can't), we begin saying, "Okay, God. I will speak when You give me the words and shut my mouth the rest of the time. I will go where You want me to go and do what You want me to do. I will wait on You. I will listen and observe. I want to use Your plan instead of mine. I will do it Your way'; Deuteronomy 5:24, 27.
Then, stand back and watch for the miraculous! God quiets storms, calms seas, puts out fires, meets needs, and makes paths (vs. 30).
God also says, if His children would just do this all the time, they would not find themselves in such messes (vs. 29).
We do not have to climb up to His standard, be good enough, or measure up. God meets us where we are and empowers us to do whatever He asks of us. He does not need our fancy plans, inventions, or schemes. All He's waiting on is a willing heart.
God has provided His Book of Love, His Holy Word, our personal "How To" Book ... the Master's Tools for every situation. Once we realize God never gave rules to lord over us, but as an inheritance to His children to help us find the path to peace and victory, we become eager to seek Him more.
Believing God is a choice that requires action. In recognizing its benefits, it becomes our way of life. Evil cannot defeat it.
~ Spiritual Exercise ~
If you want the golden medal
(If, indeed, the prize is yours),
You must exercise the muscles;
Keep your mind fixed on the goals.
So it is for all the "faithful" ~
For the 'given measure' grows
'Til our minds are filled with faithfulness
That the Heart of Heaven knows.
Do your duty ~ exercise!
Read, again, the words in red.
Sing the songs and tell the stories;
Testify ~ be Spirit led!
Lift your holy hands ~ surrender
To the God Who loves and cares,
To the Painter of the sunset,
To the One Who hears your prayers.
