How Long Will I Love Thee?
I will love Thee until
a sparrow has placed the earth
upon the moon ~
one grain of earth at a time,
one drop of water at a time.
I will love Thee until
the sun does not shine,
until the moon no longer rises,
until the tides no longer change.
I will love Thee until
there is no breath in my body,
no memories in my heart,
no song in my soul.
I will love Thee until
there is no forever.
