How God is Revealed

"For the invisible things of him
from the creation of the world are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made,
even his eternal power and Godhead;
so that they are without excuse":
Romans 1:20 (kjv)Paul

The most perfect idea of the Church is that men may know God.

In its simple form this knowledge is known by the world as God created it.
As the sun is the center of the Solar system, God is the center of Christianity. Christianity is a power because it is a life in God.
God is Revealed to us in many ways:

Our universe declares the work of God.
The more we discover about it, the more God's marvelous power is displayed. There is a structure to everything we see around us, down to the the tiniest atom. The wonders of the world are the handiwork of God. The dew upon the trees and flowers on a beautiful morning serenaded by birds in the bright sun. The graceful strides of a deer as it bounding across an open field. Or the playful innocences of a child curious about all that surrounds him.
The wonders of the world are the footprints of God. We cannot yet see him, but we are on the road that leads to see him in his grandeur, when we admire him in the things he made.
Creative things, even the blessings and gifts he gives each of us are his footprints, since they are made by him and a guide to himself.
We should not hide or ignore those gifts he bestows upon us. If we use the talents given us, they will lead us directly to the Creator.

"I have felt A presence that disturbs me with the joy,
Of elevated thoughts, a sense sublime
Of something far more deeply interfused
Whose dwelling is the light of setting suns
and the round ocean and the living air
and the blue sky and in the mind of man;
A motion and a spirit that impels
All thinking things, all objects of all thought,
And rolls through all things.

Wordsworth also speaks of conscience as:
"God's most intimate presence in the soul,
And his most perfect image in the world

"Tintern Abbey" by Wordsworth

To sense God within, is to become fully aware of His divine guidance.
It is a close presence walking beside you, an awareness that you are not alone. Some people feel this more deeply than others and at different stages in their life. God has not left without a witness and has made men feel, at times in their lives, a sense of the divine. Our Heavenly Father has placed an eternal light in the hearts of men. This sense of God is made very strong through our feelings of right and wrong. When we are open to right and true things, we are most perceptive to a presence of God in our daily lives.

God is also revealed to us through the writings of prophets inspired by His spirit. Men like Moses and Isaiah were permitted into the great depths of the infinite, and they reported unto others what God had spoken too them. Jesus told the Jews of His time to searched the scriptures for they spoke of Him.
"Behold, what manner of love
the father hath bestowed upon us,
that we should be called the children of God:".
1 John 3: 1

God is the Father.
God as the father is the source of all things.
He is the "Father Almighty" creator of the heavens and the earth.
By his own will he has brought us into the world, but in a special sense he is the father of men.
He is the caretaker and provider for all our needs.
This means he rules over the incidents of life, so as to protect and train and develop his children.
As a good father, he gives us the opportunities to discover in the earth its riches, find its treasures of knowledge and enjoy its beauty.
God is our father as he has made us like himself.
And above all these things, He is our father in his desire that we give ourselves to him and find joy and strength in this fellowship.
It is in this deep spiritual sense that the fullest meaning of fatherhood is found.

"God is a Spirit:
and they that worship him
must worship him in spirit and in truth."
John 4:24

God is Spirit Being.

He created man and woman in His own image. We are given intelligence and a free will to choose. God doesn't want mindless puppets, but for us to willingly obey and love Him. God searches the hearts of men so that they can see that His laws are as just and correct today as they were two thousand years ago. Even when we don't understand ourselves, Our Heavenly father does. For His thoughts are so much greater then mans.

Herein is love,
not that we loved God,
but that he loved us, and sent his Son,
to be the propitiation for our sins."
I John 4: 10

God is love.

Love has its very existence in God the Father. Jesus brought this love to all of mankind when he took human form, walked as a human, and died as a human. This love is at the very heart of christianity. This love cannot be defined with words, it must be revealed in our characters and in our actions towards others.

"The eternal God is our refuge
and underneath are the everlasting arms."
Deuteronomy 33:27

Gods Divine character.
There is no limit to his existence. There is purpose, hope, strength, and security in the man who trusts in the changeless God. This gives us inspiration. We know that his plan will be brought into being and that there will be peace after the storm, order out of disorder, and an eternal home for us, untainted by doubt and sin. God is near every one of us and in him we live, and move and have our being.

Because God is near to us we can worship him anywhere and at anytime. All places may be sacred. In your chair at work, on your break, on a park bench, and just a quick pause while working with a thought, a silent prayer.

Whither shall I go from thy Spirit?
or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there,
If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
If I take the Wings of the Morning,
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
event here shall thy hand lead me,
and thy right hand shall hold me.
Psalms 139: 7-10

The word "revelation" means the unfolding or making known, something that is hidden.
Applied to religion it is making known the truths concerning God and his kingdom.
Paul said:
"The natural man receiveth
not the things of the Spirit of God.
1 Corinthians 2:14

When we speak of Revelation we mean that God himself has made known the truths of his kingdom to men.

Revelation is simply this knowledge of God.
