My Strength and My Song

A sense of frailty rises in us when the trials of life engulf us. The uncertainties of life comes upon us and our human minds betray us. Our strength which we always thought we possessed evaporates in the shadow of hopelessness. It is then that we seek comfort and strength from family and friends. But they can only come so far with us. It is a foreboding perception of just how weak we really are.
The Lord is my strength and my song.
We sing this in our hearts when we walk upon the high mountains of happiness.
However when we tumble head first into those deep and dark valleys we sometimes forget the song we shared in our hearts with the Lord. Can we truly forget that we are his children, implanted with the seed of his Spirit?
Absolutely not!
Because He is even in the valleys with us. It is in these dark places that we learn to grow patiently in faith. God desires to lead us, and sometimes all he gives us is our faith. He wants us to trust Him completely.
If we would just rely on his strength to guide us. For He is the God of our strength. He is our light and salvation in the dark valleys.
Why then are we afraid and so anxious?
For it is God that arms us with strength, and makes our way safe. We need to trust Him completely, as if we were a small child. If a human father leads his child through unknown streets, the child will follow unquestionably. So should we follow our Heavenly father when he goes before us.
No questions asked.
It is then we can truly sing to God.

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
