When I was a young boy, I enjoyed losing myself in the woods near my home. Not too far among the trees I would descend a hillside and locate my favorite spot. A huge rock at the base of the incline. It's form was covered by moss and worn by the hand of time Many times I would climb up the lower part of the rock and walk to the highest point, there, I would sit and think, clear my mind when I was worried or just wanted to be by myself.

Many times, we just need to climb to the top and just remember the Rock from whence we are hewn. When everything is going great, and we have no cares, we as Christians need to just to sit there and consider how great God is and see His hand in our lives. To become as a child again and to thank our Heavenly Father for His tender mercies and bountiful blessings.

For there is no Rock like unto God. (I Samuel 2:2)

Sometimes in my walk as a Christian I have needed to climb that rock and get above the cares of this world. When my heart is overwhelmed within me, God's spirit leads me to that Rock that is higher then me ( Psalm 61:2).

That Rock is Jesus.

The description of a rock is a firm support. Just touch the surface of a huge rock, and it seems unbreakable and certainly unmovable by human strength.

As we read and study God's word, it lightens up, our path, that Rock of Ages. We can get our feet out of the miry clay, and rest at the top.

There, we can look at things from God's perspective.

Let Him lead us in the direction we need to travel.

For thou art my rock and my fortress
therefore for they names's sake
lead me,
and guide me.
Psalms 31:3
