PRAISE TO THE UNSEEN
In my nakedness I saw,
what could not otherwise be
seen:
A mishap body,
whose sores had once been
covered like a skin.
Till there, where the radiant light
shone brightest upon me
keen,
A window opened, or a door,
to allow a fresh breath in.
Just as new and unpolluted
waters,
over skin
B to clean
B
Can reveal the battle scars,
inflicted by friend, foe, or
kin:
So finally, I could understand
whatever it did mean:
It was a hidden Goodness,
Undarkened
by the cloud of sin.
Therefore, praise be to God,
who did appear to remain
unseen.
His acts of love and mercy
yet work upon my soul
therein:
To prepare me for my mansion's room,
in which I've
never been,
At last, to crown me with a victory,
which I could not win!
