You never got to say Goodbye

You never got to say goodbye,
Yet in your heart,
You know you cry,
For the only brother that you had,
Some things were good,

Some
were bad,
We never know from day to day,
When God will choose to take away,
The very family that we love,
But now he lives with God above,
No more
pain that is so real,

We never really know how another feels,
Different types of pain affects our life,
As years go on there’s so much strife,
Some of our burdens we will share,
But
other burdens we don’t dare,

So when this sadness it will pass,
and you’ll remember fun at last,
The childhood games you two would play and,
then would tell jokes and laugh all day,
The teasing that all brothers do,
Trying to get the best of you,

So my
dear friend,
Please sit and close your eyes,
And just drift back to a time,
That’s come and now long gone,
But please dear friend carry them
Deep in
your heart for you and
Your brother will never part,
Please know he knew you loved him too.

I dedicate this poem to my
best and dearest friend ever,
Who lost her brother unexpectedly.
May your hearts be joined for all time.
