| My Gift to You I send this special gift to you, For childhood dreams that wouldn't come true, You sit alone on your bed, Without your mommy to rub your head, And as you hold your doll you cry, If you were my mommy, my eyes would be dry, The days they passed, the years did too, But still no dreams you had came true. And on your graduation day, You knew it would always be that way, So you moved on in life as we all do, Put the hurt and pain in back of you, Now you have become a loving wife, And a success with all your life, But you always have the time to help others, To share is your way not your Mother's, In your heart there is pure gold, And full of riches yet untold, There is nothing on this earth that can compare, To your compassion for it's ever there. This poem is dedicated to my best friend and X sister in law Sandy I love you, for you are one of God's true angels. Copyright by Helen Hummel June 20, 2002 |
