Time to Reflect
This old covered bridge,
On an old country road,
Has stood for many years
With many stories told,
Of happiness and tears
For it is now a century old,
With worn walls and roof,
The floor boards rattle so,
You think you will fall through,
But many people come this way
Just to see it’s beauty,
And to think of days gone by,
When they were young
And time did fly,
As under the bridge they’d sit,
Hold hands and even steal a kiss,
To the sound of water rushing by,
Underneath the bridge,
Standing now looking back at those years,
They now laugh,
All their memories now shared,
Still in love after all these years.
