| 1. What will Your Reward Be? |
| Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on
his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom
prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. I am reminded of my sister's response when she had done something for our mother, and mother wanted to pay her back. She always tried to pay back everyone who did something for her. My sister say. "Mother you are taking my reward in Heaven away from me by paying me back. Not that my sister did it for any award at all. The Bible says so many times to do good deeds to other people, not expecting a reward of any kind, especially down here, but people today, have stopped doing good deeds at all. ( Now if you are out there doing things for other people and not doing it for monetary gain or reward but giving from the bottom of your heart, I am not talking to you). Maybe by preaching you didn't get to Heaven by your works, people then thought well I don't have to do any good works. The Bible says that we will be judged by the deeds done in this body. I would hate to get to Heaven and God or My Savior Jesus say well you made it in, but you didn't do anything that gets a reward. I know that times are bad
and the best you can do, people barely make it. Just think though if you
cut grass on the side to make a few dollars, look around and maybe you can
fine some elderly person or couple who barely make it on what they make
and are not physically able to cut their own grass. Do their's for
nothing, but as a gift and you will be surprised how good you will feel
and how God will not only give you an award in Heaven, but he will send a
blessing upon your life. I have seen God reward people so much
because they started giving of themselves to other people. God even gave
them more income because of their generosity. Jesus said, it is better to
give then to receive. Sometimes God holds back his blessings upon us
because we don't give anything to our fellow man. That's what it
meant in Matthew when you've done unto the least of these, you have done
it unto me. The Bible says in Luke 6:38 38 (NIV) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
I has happened to me, so I do know of what I speak. People most the time
think this only applies to paying our tithes, but it doesn't . We get so
much back by giving to other people in deeds or kind words or just a
smile. |
