A Good Life

The song contains many truths. Life often throws us tempests and storms. They get us down, but when we begin to count our blessings and be thankful to the lord it is amazing what can happen.

Corrie Ten Boom (The Hiding Place) was arrested during World War Two for hiding Jews. She was sent to a concentration camp that was infested with fleas. Corrie Ten Boom thanked the lord for the fleas even though she could see nothing good about fleas. One day she realised that because the guards didn't like the fleas they did not enter the huts. Of a night time Corrie and her sister were able to conduct prayer meetings and bible studies. They won many hearts to the lord.

I guess I am writing this page because I want to show that no matter what happens in your life, no matter how tragic. Your faith can never be taken from you. No matter what is occuring for you at any particular time you can say thank you Lord. Even when this seems to be impossible. Even when you don't understand why. Even when you can't see anything good you can simply count your blessings. Its about seeing the positive when everything around you is dark. Ok I know that this is difficult but once we start to change the tapes in our head and look for silver linings we start to draw closer to God. Even when the blessing is hard to find say a simple prayer:

Lord I can't see my way out of this I can't see the good in this situation but thank you anyway.

Its incredible what begins to happen is God's love shines through the difficult times. When we start replacing burdens with blessings we begin to have hope. And nothing can take that away.

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts
Of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed,
