What did we learn from that terrible day?
Do you remember the lives taken away?
Buildings were crumbling and smoke in the air.
Running and crying was seen every where.

People could not understand,
what was happening in our wonderful land.
Planes were falling from the sky,
lives were taken to the sweet by and by.

Confusion was all that one could see.
Calling on God was first on our list.
Reaching towards heaven, was our fervent prayer.
Lord, protect us...keep us in Your care.

Not one word was said about people being offended
by those that prayed and called out to Him.
For several Sundays, the churches were packed,
Because people wanted to get their lives on track.

Soon things began to settle down
and lives began to turn back around.
Back to the old way of thinking
and complaining about Him.

Don't mention God, you might offend.
Complain about Him and forget about sin.
Take our country for granted,
and our president, too.

Nothing can please you,
so what can I say?
I don't think we learned much
from that terrible day.

If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their
wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and heal their land.
II Chronicles 7:14
