Are You Ready?

They say a hurricane is coming.
The waves will certainly roar.
Buckle up for safety,
Do not the news ignore.
Bring in all that's needed
food and water galore.
Board up all the windows
and gas up that old Ford.
Listen to the weather man
He'll tell you what to do
And yet, he can not say for sure
Just what the storm will do.
The path is now projected
even though it is not ashore.
This one thing is certain
It's nearer than before.

Just like Christ, our Savior
One day will come once more
The Bible tells us for certain
And yet many still ignore.
Living for tomorrow
Never thinking of "That" day.
Although this may be your last day
before the Lord takes you away.
He is the rock of your salvation,
The storms of life will not destroy.
So take Him as your Savior,
and love Him ever more.
Get your life in order, let your light shine,
So, when He comes to take you,
He'll say, "I found you ready,
Come up hither, child of mine."

Just prior to when a hurricane hit the
eastern coast of the U.S., I couldn't
help but think about the preparations
being made for it and the concern for
others well being. The news was constantly
being broadcast on nearly every
station...for all to be prepared....
which is all well and good.
On the other hand, even more important
is the coming of the Lord. The lack of
preparation and concern for others is
evident. Rather than making sure that
you are prepared to meet "The Master"
and concern for other's soul,
many do not even want to hear His
name mentioned. So, I was led to
write the above poem.
Therefore be ye also ready:
for in such an hour as ye think not
the Son of man cometh.
Matthew 24:44
