Dear Daddy

Your heart of gold stopped beating
Your eyes were finally at rest
It broke my heart to know that
God only takes the best.

God knew you had to leave us,
But Daddy, you did not go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day He took you Home.

To some, you are forgotten,
To others, just the past.
But to me, who loved and lost you,
Your memory will always last.

One day in Heaven
I know I'll see your face
and we'll sing His praises
and tell of His amazing grace.

Until that day, Dear Daddy,
I hope you know that I
am here on earth still crying
for I never got to say good bye.

I will always love you
and I hope you know that I
can not wait to see you
and we'll never have to say good bye
