I Need A Wash

My attention was taken by the car on the road
in front of me. It was covered with grime.
On the back window someone had written
"I need a wash!" True enough, I thought.

I began to think more about washing.
It is easy enough to wash the grime
off of a car, and it is possible to
wash ourselves when we are dirty.
But there is a different and deeper
washing - having our sins washed
away. Our sins cannot be washed
away with water or good works
or new resolutions. Something
greater is needed.

Then there came to my mind
these words that John wrote
to the seven churches in Asia.
He reminded them that in love,
Jesus had washed away their
sins with His own blood.

Full forgiveness is ours when we
put our faith in Jesus. He makes
us clean from all our sins.

John wrote, "If we walk in the
light, as He is in the light
we have fellowship one with
another, and the blood of
Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth
us from all sin. I John 1:7

As we live in fellowship with
God and one another, we
experience the reality of
being cleansed and changed.

Unto Him that loved us,
and washed us from our
sins in His own blood,
and hath made us kings
and priests unto God
and His Father,
to Him be glory and
dominion for ever and
ever.
