I Need Thee, Lord

I never knew such love before,
I let my Savior in.
I never felt such comfort,
peace and inward joy.

I am still human though
and falter along the way.
Crying out to God to help me
and please, direct my way.

When things in life happen,
and I fall down on the floor,
I lift my eyes to heaven and say,
"Pick me up, once more."

On days, when I am weary
and the pain is deep within;
It seems that life is dreary
and I question Him, again.

What is the reason for living?
Why do some suffer and ...
Some never know pain? ..
Where are you, Lord?...I need You!

Then, He tells me that He knows best,
Because it takes the pain
to makes us more conscious of
others experiencing the same.

When one is in a hurry,
we fail to ascertain
the problems others experience
while walking down the lane.

He tells me not to worry,
that I will be okay
and though my days are weary
He is with me all the way.

He reminds me, when in heaven
there will be no pain
Suffering will be over
and joy will reign again.

He tells me that he suffered,
and that He was free from sin.
He obeyed His Father's wishes
and died for you and me.

So, forgive me, Lord,
When I grumble and think of only me.
Keep me ever mindful,
of how much I need Thee.
