REFLECTORS

Reflectors bounce back the light they receive.
Saved people give off light if in God they believe.
God gave us light when He created the sun.
On His creation we play and have fun.
At night a light house illuminates a ship’s way
so into hazards the ship does not stray
Polishing the reflector is a light house keeper’s chore
to keep the ships traveling safely along the shore
If in the mirror, the light of Jesus we don’t see
we are like a lost ship tossed about in the sea
Satan uses gimmicks so him we will embrace
but looking into the mirror reveals our true face.
If the reflection we see makes our soul cry
we see Satan, the enemy, who is slick and sly.
Accepting Jesus causes our reflection to change.
Then our lives and priorities we will rearrange.
Now when we look into the mirror and love we reflect.
This light of Jesus’ love in our face others will detect

Poem inspired from a sermon
by Pastor Dwight Giles

“I ask the roses as they grew
richer and lovelier in their hue,
What made their tints so rich and bright,
They answered: "Looking toward the Light."
Ah, secret dear, said heart of mine;
God meant my life to be like Thine;
Radiant with Heavenly beauty bright,
Simply looking towards the light.
