                           Memorializing The Sacrifice

Memorial Day is supposed to be a day when we remember those that bravely laid down their lives for us.  These men and women paid the ultimate price for our freedom and as such should indeed be remembered and their sacrifice appreciated.  We must honor their memory and hold dear that which they so unselfishly provided: Our freedom.

As we remember and honor those that sacrificed their lives for us,
I would like to remind you all of the story of a man that lived this
sacrifice in the flesh, when He was handed over about 2,000 years ago  to be sacrificed and fulfill the prophesy in Zechariah 11:12. His name was, is, and always will be Jesus; the Name above
ALL names.  The name to which every knee shall bow and every
tongue shall confess that  He is God. (Romans 14:11)

While they whipped His back, He only thought about His love for you and me.   He didn't care about the pain and suffering He was
enduring, because He did it out of love for us.

He surrendered His physical life for humanity that never even thought of Him.   He did it so that every one that believed in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)  He undeservingly took upon His broken body, despised unto death, our sins and iniquities, pains and sorrows.  He did all of this for us.  Because He loves us. (Isaiah 53:2-10)

On the painful path to Calvary He found Himself walking, there were many sufferings He endured.  He barely had any physical strength left, but His Spirit pressed Him forward towards the cross.  The
blood flowed down His face, that same blood that washed away our sins.  (Revelations 1:5) He gave His life on that tree and on the third day He was once again on His feet, resurrected and victorious!

As we contemplate this Memorial Day, let's take some time to remember the  perfect sacrifice that was made for our freedom. Not freedom as we know it today in the USA.  But the everlasting freedom.  The freedom from murder, theft, lying, adultery, fornication, perversion, lust, addictions, demons.  For he whom the Son sets free, shall be free indeed! (John 8:36)

Father, I take this time to remember the gift You gave us 2,000 years ago.   Your Son, Jesus Christ.  The perfect sacrifice.  The
Lamb of God, which takes away the sins of the world.  The one whom though sinless, agreed to carry our  sins and offer up His broken body because of our imperfections and hopelessness.  I understand this day is set aside for the honoring of those that gave their lives for us.  I have family members that did the same.  I
honor their sacrifice.  But I honor and cherish Jesus' sacrifice much more,  for His sacrifice was for my ETERNAL freedom, not the one we cherish so much here on earth that lasts but for a season.  I therefore choose to memorialize You this day and EVERY DAY, for You gave it all for me, as undeserving as I am.  I will continue to move forward in You, spreading the Good News, That Jesus, King of kings & Lord of lords, gave up
His life for all that believe in Him. That we are offered salvation through grace alone, that our works will not save us, for they
are merely a by-product of our gratefulness.  I will continue to
pray for those involved in situations that if not but by Your amazing grace, could be me.  I will continue to do my part to pick my brethren up when he/she falls, to encourage and love them UNCONDITIONALLY, not because of who they are but IN SPITE of who they are.  I choose to do this for this is how You chose to love me.  I pray that You will give me the strength to press forward when it is needed, and the wisdom to step back when appropriate.

These things I ask in Jesus' name, amen.............

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished": and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

God Bless you all........
