                     Retying The Knots

I was chattering with a dear friend today and she told me about something that happened to her last night.

When she was ready to go to sleep she wrapped up in a favorite afghan and curled up... turns out there was a knot that had loosened in that afghan and her toe caught it and  the afghan unraveled from the inside out... repairing that is harder than if it had unraveled on the outer edges.  Made me think how that afghan is like us.   If we get dirty on the outside it is a lot easier to wash that off than it is to clean the inside.

We talked a bit more and I got to thinking about that knot... that knot can represent our relationship with God.  We  know our salvation is there and we don't unravel it but we sure can unravel the knot that ties us close to Him in our daily walk.

Now God does not unravel or untie his side of the knot it is there and His strength will never weaken.  However our side well it can change.  When we start to put other things before our relationship with God our side of the knot loosens and if we keep it up it can unravel to the point that we wonder where He is in our lives.  He is still right where He has always been sooo..  that means we have to get out our crochet hooks of worship, prayer, study of the Word and our private time with him and work those knots back....

Now when we repair something it does not make it like it was in the beginning when it was all new, however the repair of this knot can make it stronger on our part and if we keep tending to the things that strengthen it we will find that as time passes that knot will be our lifeline

I hope this sharing of our thoughts helps someone who is struggling with the unraveling knots in their lives also
