THE BATTLE FOR THE SEED
Matthew 2:12-23
Seeds. They come in every size, shape and
form. Inside of every seed is a destiny
that must be carried out. It is not the
seed, but the destiny of that seed that
strikes fear in the heart of the enemy.
Seeds represent the beginning of
anything--a life, a project, an idea, etc.
The problem with a seed is that when it is
in this form, it is most vulnerable, and
most easy to destroy. That is why Satan,
our enemy, comes after new believers with
such a hellish vengeance because he knows
that this will be the easiest time to
destroy the seed of God in that life. We
see this in scripture.
The battle for the life of our Savior
began not when He got baptized or when He
began His ministry, but when He was a mere
babe. It seems Satan always has a hunch
when a deliverer is about to be birthed.
It is almost as though he can smell it in
the air. He went after Moses the same way
as he did Jesus. In fact, he attacked
before Moses was even born. Praise God
that He has a way to make sure His
deliverers are delivered!
As we come to the time of the year when we
celebrate the birth of our Savior, we must
remember that although He came as a baby,
inside His seed was the DNA of God, and
along with that, the destiny to be our
Savior. So where is this going? There are
seeds that God has put in your life and
the life of your children that must be
guarded and fought for so that they can
grow and bring forth the destiny of God
for your life.
Satan knows the best time to destroy a
dream or vision that God has given you is
in its early stages. This is why prayer
and walking in the Spirit is so important
for your life. Notice how God warned
Joseph about the battle to come. He will
do the same thing for you and yours, then
it is up to you to be obedient to the
voice of God and follow through with His
instructions. Remember, seeds have no
defense except the watchful eye of the
Sower. Prayer and intercession will give
your seeds the protection they need while
they accomplish their destiny. Know that
there is a battle for the seeds that God
has sown into your life but He is well
able to bring it forth as you labor in
prayer and walk in obedience to Him.
Watching your seeds grow and learning to
walk in your destiny will be the greatest
gift you can give your Savior this Holy
Season.
