Since You've Been Gone Dedicated to those they left behind
I've been so lonely, since you've been gone There are days when I feel I can't go on I hear your footsteps on the walk Then we share some wine, and sit and talk
"How was your day," you cheerily ask As I gently chide you, for an unfinished task "I'll do it tomorrow", you sheepishly said (But I knew you'd watch the game instead!)
But for us, tomorrow never came And I scoured the lists to find your name "But he'd never leave me", I frantically cried "He'll surely turn up, he can't have died!"
The months that followed, I can't recall The enormity of it, stunned us all I tried my best to take it in stride But my heart is heavy and breaking inside
A year has gone by since that fateful day And thousands of people have come to pray As I bow my head, I hear you say "Don't give up, take it day by day"
"You're not alone, don't you know that dear? You can't see me, but I'm right here! My hand's on your shoulder, we'll never part As long as you carry me, deep in your heart"

September's Eboned Skies
September 11,2001, will echo in our souls, til' the end of time, beautiful bright sunshiny day, turns to smokey clouds of disaster.
An unbelievable course of events, as a movie before our eyes, inconceiveable as a true course of life, terror, anger, sadness, a tomb in the streets.
The inferno grows, buildings colapse, bodies falling, blowing from the windows, the brave rush to rescue the helpless, unsure of their own fate.
Our nation struck by an evil, vengeful entity, as life has no value, sadistic, hardened and cruel, causing innocent to die, laying in pools of debris, meaning to destroy freedom, unknowing that we the civilized become stronger, and will defend our heritage.
Is this to be the end of life as we know it, will we ever be the same, hearts laden with sorrow, for those who lost so much, never knowing why.
Red, white and blue, we proudly wave our flag in glory, we will rise, we will conquer, for God as our mighty shield and sword, giving us the strength and resources to defend our nation founded, In God We Trust.

A Day For Remembering
It's been almost a year ago,
Since that awful fateful day.
The one that turned our lives around,
And changed our daily way.
That morning I can still recall,
As if it were just yesterday.
I can still remember it; it is all so clear,
A terrible memory that will never go away.
I was watching the news,
It was like any other morning,
But then the pictures of a plane, crashing into trade center one,
Oh God, those poor people, they had no warning,
It was as if time had stopped,
Watching the flames, and sparks fall down in a shower.
And then all of a sudden another explosion,
Another plane crashing through the number two tower.
I sat glued to the set for hours on end,
I watched through tears as the twin towers came crashing down.
Then came news of two more hijacked planes,
One hit the pentagon; the other crashed into the ground.
It would be hours before we knew,
What was the planes targeted site.
The passengers, such a heroic group,
Two words "Let's Roll" as they made the ultimate great sacrifice.
We learned of the terrorist,
The monsters behind this horrible scheme.
Osama Bin Laden, and the Taliban,
The evil ones, and their evil deeds.
Now one year later, we have said our goodbyes,
We have buried our dead, and the ruble has been cleared away,
But we will never forget our heroes,
Or the sacrifices they made that day.
Our country is united, The Great USA
WE are even stronger than before.
We fly our colors proudly,
And continue the fight to even the score.
Please as this anniversay approaches,
Take a moment to remember them all.
The firemen, policeman, the passengers on the plane,
And everyone who answered the call.
For these are true heroes,
The ones our children can look up to when they play.
So take a moment to say a prayer,
And remember them on this day.
Sept. 11,2001 a day for remembering.

Going Up
Holding hands with a friend, she step-step-steps, trying hard not to run, Yet hurry-hurry-hurry.
Water runs over the steps, cascading down below. The stairway stinks of fear, and the acrid tang of smoke.
Sweating firemen, laden with tools and air tanks pass her on the stair. They are going up.
At last, she staggers into the glass-littered street. Snowdrifts of torn paper drape the shattered dead.
Roaring in street agony, the tower starts it's long fall. Hope gone, shoes lost, she run-run-runs.
Crouching under cover, gasping in false night, she cries for the firemen. Going up.

Invocation
We kneel and pray to You, Dear God, please tell us what to do, this terrible tragedy from the sky, directed by evil, taking so much life, they laugh, dance at our fate, and none would ever want to see, or feel this again.
You know God, though we wave the flag in honor of freedom, and this great nation, founded on You, some still simply do not believe in You.
They grow angry, shout and proclaim, this idiotic idea of a personal God, and they say religion, is once more to blame.
Have their hearts become so callous, they no longer see the rainbow, or feel Your breath upon their face, or see the light of Your sweet grace.
For all around Your beauty stands, within each tree branch waving in the wind, comes dorth Your divine hand, as all of nature echoes Your presence.
We've come together God, caring and sharing, as never before, to be within Your hallowed walls, lighting candles and kneeling to pray.
Please give us Your guiding hand, as we prepare for this oncoming war, and be patient with us a little longer, take the vengence from our hearts, and when this victory has taken place, perhaps we will once again, become and remain, One Nation Under God.

I Need You
How do I go on without you How can I live my life Without you here beside me How can I be your wife
I need you to share a sunset And discuss the latest news Or tell me a funny story To chase away the blues
To walk along the garden path Listening to robins sing Or share the striking beauty The changing seasons bring
I need you to console me Hold me when I weep And put your hand upon my shoulder Then blow a kiss before I sleep
I need you to hold my hand When sorrow pays a call For without you here beside me Life means nothing at all
But then, there are the children For them, I must be strong To just sit around and weep Would be selfish and very wrong
I'll keep your memory alive Recalling good times that we had Making sure they never forget That you were the world's greatest dad!

A Year After, The Day The World Cried
Each day in their lives, seemed to slowly pass by, they prayed for the times, they were not alone.
And now a year, has past them by, they tried so hard not to cry, and even harder, was the final goodbye.
All dreams they shared, that never came to be, are now shadowed memories, of those times past.
Now that day is here again, as the memorial slowly begins, they sit and silently sigh, and still!, they wonder why.
In the blink of an eye, a terrible tragedy from the sky, many innocent had to die, the day the whole world cried.
An evil vengeful country, filled us with fear, no thought of life, God!, help the wicked.
