| David & Elizabeth He was a man who lived life full, At work his weight he did always pull, He met her and quickly fell in love, To him she was his sweet white dove, They partied often always had a bash, To think back now, it was real rash, They did enjoy all that they could, But to better choices is what they should, Caution there, they did throw to the wind, So please to forgive us we did sin, There was a time a good life did make, But the drugs they took certainly did take. It started out with a persistant cold, One day she realised she’d never grow old, He cared for her left nothing to spare, He knew her fate he too would share, Their love was true to the very end, So few did know, many good friend, When they did pass to the other side, Not many came they said they tried. The fire did consume the ashes well, Now only remains their story to tell, The choices we make by which we live, Sometimes the path to change we’d give. All that was valuable our treasures true, Just to be well and live life anew, In the end our eyes we tried to shade, We died a foolish death, we had AIDS. Dedicated to the Memory of two Good friends David and Elizabeth Hunt who died of AIDS 1994 Copyright by Wolfgang Hummel Jan 18, 2002 |
