In November 2006, my husband Robert, told me of a dream he had the night before. “The Church was bleeding and I thought a transfusion was needed. Then I thought, 'No, the transfusion wouldn't work until the bleeding stopped.'”Robert pondered about this and asked me to pray on it. The Lord interpreted the dream by showing the bleeding, as Jesus seeping from the Church. Churches have been using transfusions to live on, such as creative, feel good teachings, to fill the pews and increase the giving; eventually disappointing the people. However, these transfusions will not stop the bleeding. What is needed is a renewed vision of Jesus Christ, with an absolute surrender to him, then the bleeding will stop.
A few weeks later, a girlfriend called to tell of a dream she was told by another. “A pastor and his wife were attending a formal dinner, when the wife left the table, where her husband sat and join another man's table. She then announced she was leaving her husband and marrying this other man.”
This particular dream, brought tears to my eyes, for immediately the Lord showed me the bride leaving Christ. Paul tells us in Romans 8:35-39 that nothing can separate us from the love of God and Jesus said that he will be with us until the end of time (Matthew 28:20). What has happened? Why are “believers” separating themselves from God's love, leaving Christ?
The Church today is betrothed to Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit enters into the heart of the believers marking them as the Lord's betrothed (Ephesians 1:13-14 and 2 Corinthians 1:22).
The Lord will soon come for us, to be with him in heaven, but, we must wait. Matthew 25:1-12 describes wise virgins keeping oil in their lamps, symbolizing the Holy Spirit, waiting for the groom to return.
While we are waiting, we must remain faithful and not chase after other providers and protectors; committing adultery. We must not prostitute ourselves by becoming tempted with sinful desires (1 John 2:15-16.), for we will be tempted, tried, tested, deceived, tricked and afflicted. But, Jesus Christ as our Savior, has not changed; he is saying to us today, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life" (John 14:6).
In early December 2006, my beloved grandson became curious about the occult, by playing computer games and becoming involved with a group a young people, that actually practiced witchcraft. When I ask him why, he responded, “I saw the power.”
In all these situations, the answer is a renewed vision of Jesus Christ. How do we get that renewed vision? By returning to the basics; prayer and the Word of God.
In 2007 “The River of Life: Poetry From a Wilderness Experience” was published. That book laid out the foundation of the prayer lifestyle, I am called to embrace. This book is the lifestyle and its purpose is to build up faith in waiting “believers”, helping them in seeing Jesus Christ for who he truly is; Our Savior!
Confessing God's Word will turn a defeated mind into a victorious warrior.
Satan knows that the “believers” of Jesus Christ are his adversaries. His mission is to remove the position of victory we have in Christ, by causing us to fall into defeat. Praying, confessing and speaking God's Word, in faith, allows the “believer” to pursue victory rather than accepting a fall.
The Church has been waiting over 2000 years for Christ's return and many have slipped into much deception and away from Christ. Let us pray that a renewed vision of Jesus Christ will saturate the entire Body of Christ, around the world. Let us be ready for his return.
This book is a compilation of some of the promises of God, in dealing with the things that concerns us; such as addictions, anger, depression, fear, jealousy, pride, temptation, healing, obedience, patience and numerous others. It contains the essential nuggets for a life of peace with God and man.
"For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us." (2 Corinthians 1:20)
As believers in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we have entered into a covenant with God and become recipients of His promises, found in the Word of God, the Bible. By giving our lives to God, we promise to obey His Word. God will then pour out His blessing upon us because we are now His children. Everything His Word promises is for us to receive. We receive these blessings by faith.
To please God, we express our faith by confessing His promises and by doing this it will guide our lives in the proper direction. By confessing a promise, directed to ourselves, we are stating that it applies us. It is expressing faith when we confess that we are the ones who are going to receive the blessing.
“So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)
We expect this book to provide believers with the necessary ammunition for fighting; empowering them to stand strong, healthy, faithful and Holy while awaiting for the return of the Groom, Jesus Christ.
